VOLA Company History
VOLA is a family owned business owned by the Overgaard family. The first VOLA taps were designed in 1968 by Arne Jacobsen for the National Bank of Denmark. VOLA is recognized as one of the design classics within Scandinavian design and has received several international design award over the years.
All VOLA taps and accessories are manufactured in Denmark. For the past 50 years VOLA has been very active selling its products in Europa. From 1987 until 2006 VOLA established 7 sales subsidiaries in the UK, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and Austria and has been very successful with that. Later sales subsidiaries in Australia and Korea followed.
VOLA has flagship showrooms in Shanghai, London, Zurich, Amsterdam, Munich, Brussels, Stockholm, Vienna, Melbourne, Copenhagen and Aarhus.
In 2012 VOLA established a rep. office and a showroom in Shanghai and has now two business development managers working from the showroom.
The showroom is in a design community in a rebuilt police station, now called the design commune by the famous architects Neri and Hu. In 2014 the Danish queen visited the showroom.
As around 90% of the turnover goes to Europe VOLA has decided to implement its Asia Pacific strategy comprising China, Hong Kong, Korea and Australia to increase its sales outside Europe and in this way create growth and spread the commercial risk.
In the VOLA Academy VOLA receives architects and interior designer every week for events, lectures and factory visits. The VOLA Academy was built in 2008 – the same year where the VOLA brand celebrated its 40thanniversary.

2012年,VOLA在上海设立了一个代表处和一个展厅,现在有两名业务开发经理在展厅工作。
该展厅位于一个重建后的英国巡捕房的设计共同体内,现在称为设计共和,由著名设计公司Neri&Hu设计。2014年,丹麦女王参观了设计共和以及VOLA旗舰展厅。
